Resources
CIRenew maintains two primary web-based reservoirs of data, information, and tools relating to energy supply, delivery, and use - as well as energy efficiency and renewable energy - in the Cape & Islands:

Cape & Islands Go Green Guide: CIGoGreen (www.cigogreen.org) - includes a "Green Pages" directory of local businesses, energy action plans, forums, tips, etc.

Cape & Islands Energy Information Clearinghouse (www.cirenew.info) - includes background information, resources, tips, etc., relating to sustainable energy in local communities.

A few other baseline resources from CIRenew and additional sources are provided below:

CIGoGreen: A Call to Action & Report to the Community (January 2008)

Resource Sheet on Green Building in Local Communities (February 2008)

Green Building on Cape Cod: Evaluation of Previous CIRenew Activities & Recommendations for Next Steps (December 2007)

CIGoGreen Brochure, Map & Business Listing (July 2007)

Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency & Green Building

Massachusetts Renewable Energy TrustThe Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust, funded by a surcharge on everyone's electric bill, was created in 1998 by the Massachusetts Legislature as an essential component of efforts to restructure the electric utility industry and to promote the development of renewable energy in the Commonwealth.
The Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) is a leading regional energy association working in the areas of green building design, sustainable transportation, and renewable energy technologies to foster a sustainable energy future.
National Renewable Energy Laboratory is the U.S. Department of Energy's premier laboratory for renewable energy research & development and a lead lab for energy efficiency R&D.
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network (EREN), hosted by the US Department of Energy, is a superior resource for information about sustainable energy use including renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies (such as photovoltaics, wind energy, solar heating and cooling), alternative fuels, buildings, and weatherization.
Since 1974, the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) has advocated the development of wind energy as a reliable, environmentally superior energy alternative in the United States and around the world.
U.S. Department of Energy's Wind Energy Program hosts a wealth of information on wind energy technology and ongoing projects
The American Solar Energy Society (ASES) is a national organization dedicated to advancing the use of solar energy for the benefit of U.S. citizens and the global environment. ASES promotes the widespread near-term and long-term use of solar energy.
U.S. Department of Energy's Solar Energy Program offers the latest information about photovoltaic and solar thermal technologies plus an extensive collection of publications and press releases and related in information.
